Bromberg & Associates Is the Best Place to Intern

5 August 2007

My Internship at Bromberg and Associates Translation Agency

I cannot believe I am actually done with my first internship. I had so much fun I almost do not want to go back to school. I have spent 20 hours a week for the last eight weeks with this company, and it has been an amazing experience. I must admit that I was extremely nervous at first, but that quickly faded. No intern or employee could ask for a warmer and more welcoming work environment.

From day one, I was able to see how the translation agency functioned. I wasn’t running around grabbing coffee and picking up dry cleaning, I was an actual hands-on intern.
During my internship, I had the opportunity to try my hand at translating a few documents of legal and technical nature. I had the honor of working on several issues of Bromberg & Associates’ newsletter. Through my research for the newsletter, I learned a lot about the fast-growing need for qualified translators and interpreters to serve our nations booming LEP population. I had the pleasure of traveling to various interpreter-training seminars taught by Irina Jesionowski, a Business Development Specialist and an Interpretation Instructor, and gaining valuable knowledge about medical and legal interpretation. I also put together a catalog with hundreds of articles relevant to translation and interpretation.

I have to say this has been one of the best educational experiences I ever and has helped me understand how vital language professionals really are to the global village. I feel even more proud that I decided to become a translator and I am eager to continue learning more about the translation and interpretation field. I know I will be able to attribute much of my future success to this internship. I just want to thank Jinny Bromberg and the entire team of Bromberg & Associates for extending this opportunity to me.
