Today, while many companies are forced to eliminate jobs and lay off their workers, while housing market looks almost dismal, we should now, more than ever, be developing strategies that focus on helping our local businesses without regard to their size. This is the general outlook on 2009 shared by everyone at Bromberg & Associates. We strongly believe that the Main Street is as important as the Wall Street! With well developed strategies of diversification and synergy development we talked about in the January article “Forecasting for B&A”, we want to make sure that we are able not only sustain and even grow during this challenging time, but also give back to our communities and support Michigan and Michiganders. That is why we thought of wholeheartedly adopting the State of Michigan’s slogan “Buy Michigan first!”
You might ask: “What is being done by B&A to turn this statement into reality?” Our company strategy is simple: whenever our clients order any language services, we make sure to select translators among our Michigan-based pool of proven experts. We work with over 300 language professionals in the state, which ultimately translates into 300 jobs that have been created for these talented individuals. In addition, Bromberg & Associates is expanding our training programs, since many talented bilingual people come to us looking for an additional source of income, or are changing their careers entirely. While the myth equaling a bilingual with a trained professional interpreter still exists, we work hard to provide comprehensive testing and training solutions and help people excel in this field. With over 150 people B&A has trained in the last few years, it’s our contribution to Michigan’s economy that helps to save our clients money by working with professionals, creates jobs and raises the bar among the local interpreting community.
Bromberg & Associates has been on the forefront of the translation industry for nearly a decade. We make sure to share all new industry developments with our clients, since we believe that educating our client is a part of our job and an important aspect of our mutual success. In the next few issues, we will be highlighting many changes to come in 2009 and beyond, starting with Title VI enforcement for federal fund recipients to new laws on Language access passed in other parts of the country and what it will mean for Michiganders. On top of it, we are offering additional savings to our Michigan clients as a gratitude for helping local businesses. We care!
