Dear Ms. Bromberg:

“Translation is an art - but you must have the opportunity to work with professionals.”

During all of my professional life (more than 25 years) I was engaged in translating, proofreading and interpreting in the language combinations:

ENGLISH / GERMAN     &     GERMAN / ENGLISH

and I have worked with so many different people, translation agencies and organizations involved in translation.

Over the past six months I have been providing my specialty translation service to your translation agency “Bromberg & Associates” and it has been a very great pleasure to work with your team of professionals.

My expectations have been exceeded in every respect, from honesty and reliability to professionalism of and interactions with your very friendly and helpful staff; especially Ms. Chris Iscela Arteaga (Translation Project Manager) who deserves a special mention.
That standard of customer service and quality of work is so difficult to find in today’s world. Therefore, I would like to use this opportunity to provide you with a testimonial and, without any hesitations, highly recommend your agency to anyone who may be looking to do business with you.
Please congratulate all involved and many thanks again for our excellent cooperation.

Sincerely,

OLIVER  PFUNER

"Our company uses these glossaries to help linguists broaden their vocabulary during interpretation training. It is nice to have glossaries for specific fields available because it is very difficult to find linguistic resources such as these."

Yes, modern educational technologies made interpreter distance training a reality.

There are three major components of interpreter training and education:

- Developing command of interpretation techniques in the simultaneous and consecutive modes and in the sight translation mode
- Understanding the interpreter role in various settings, professional ethics principles, standards of practice, and protocol
- In-depth knowledge of the industry the interpreter serves, which, in our case, is the U.S. justice system. Interpreter Education Online (IEO) students have access to the chapters,
video materials and other resources allowing them to study
  * Interpretation theory
  * Court Interpreter Code of Ethics and standards of practice
  * The U.S. justice system and various areas of law, such as criminal law, civil law, immigration law, juvenile law, and intellectual property law
  * Stages of criminal procedure
  * Special topics related to court interpretation, such as Controlled Substances, Autopsies, Slang and Jargon, and more.

The core of the IEO training is a broad Interpretation Practice section offering multiple exercises and terminology drills in all modes of interpretation. Interpretation practice exercises as well as multiple glossaries compiled by students are being reviewed and evaluated by our language-specific instructors who are federally and/or Consortium certified interpreters with extensive teaching experience. Language-specific and language-neutral instructors guide students throughout the course, giving feedback to their performance and supporting their academic and skill development progress.

The IEO team strongly believes that those students who diligently and thoroughly complete the entire course work have an excellent chance to become competent court interpreters.
