How can I submit documents for translation?
You may submit items for translation by mail, fax, e-mail, upload to an FTP or saved on a disk.

How will I receive the translated text?
We can send the translated text by mail, fax, e-mail, upload via FTP or put it on a disk. We support the majority of popular computer formats.

Do you work with Mac files as well as PC files?
Yes, we work with both. Our desktop team uses Adobe In-Design, Freehand, Illustrator, QuarkXpress, Photoshop and PageMaker for PC. We also work with MS Word, CorelDraw, Corel WordPerfect, MS PowerPoint, MS Publisher, Lotus 1-2-3 and Freelance Graphics.

Do you offer Spanish translations in different dialects?
Yes, we provide English to Spanish and Spanish to English translations suited to the particular target audience. For U.S. markets, we take into consideration whether the audience is most familiar with Mexican, Cuban or Puerto Rican Spanish. For international commerce we consider the Spanish speaking country that is receiving the translation.

How many languages do you translate?
We offer translations in over 150 different languages.

Do you offer interpretation services?
Yes, we provide a full range of interpretation services including consecutive interpreting, simultaneous interpreting and escort interpreting. We provide expert interpreters for the legal, medical, technical, automotive and general business fields. Our interpreters are available both on-site and telephonically.

Are you a global company?
Yes, we can provide translation and interpreting services anywhere in the world.

Can you provide medical translations?
Yes, Bromberg Translation Services provides skilled healthcare translators and proofreaders for any type of medical translations. We provide services to hospitals, medical practices and individuals.

Will a text cost less to translate if it has many repetitions of the same content?
Yes, we will take this into account when we provide you with a quote. However, it also depends on several other factors, such as the format of the original text, types of repetitions, etc.

How long does it take to translate a document?
The turn around time is determined by the size and the content of the document as well as a few other factors listed in our quote form. Rush service is available.

Do you translate legal documents such as birth certificates, wills, academic records and other types of documents that require certification?
Yes, we are qualified to provide certification of documents translated from another language to English or from English to many other languages. We also provide notarization and apostille services.

If I am submitting a technical text for translation, do I need to provide a glossary?
A glossary is very helpful and sometimes essential for highly specialized content. Providing a glossary will help make the translation process smoother, faster and cheaper than it would be without one. On the other hand, if this is the first document you are translating and you are anticipating more, we can help you to build a glossary from scratch.

Do I pay more for urgent projects?
Yes, as rush projects always require more resources to have the job done against tight deadlines.

Do you offer discounts for large volumes of translations or on-going projects?
Yes. The depth of discount is determined by volume and will be decided on a case by case basis.

What types of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, checks, money orders, cash, and PayPal.

What kinds of people work with Bromberg Translation Services?
We hire professional translators and interpreters who are native speakers, mostly college-educated, have previous translation and interpreting experience or are trained through our interpreter training programs.

Do you offer Desk Top Publishing services?
Yes, we are specialists in multi-lingual desktop publishing and do work for ad agencies, marketing companies and publishers. We offer a full range of services including translation and typesetting to fit your layout or we can design new graphics for you. Translations from English to another language usually run longer than your original text, so some adjustments may be needed in type size or actual layout. In addition, we will always advise you when color selections or photos are culturally inappropriate for a particular country.

What type of information do I need in order to request an interpreter for an assignment?
Language and country – French as spoken in Canada or France;
Nature of interpreting – automotive, finance or medical;
Purpose of interpreting – sales presentation or business meeting;
Number of attendants requiring interpreting services;
Their level of expertise on the subject in question;
Tentative schedule;
Type of interpreting services expected – consecutive or simultaneous;
In case it shall be simultaneous: who provides the equipment and the type of equipment needed (portable or stationary)?

What type of information is needed when a document is submitted for translation?
Language and country – Spanish as spoken in Mexico or in Spain; British or American English;
Nature of translation – medical, legal, technical;
Purpose of translation – industrial manual or an ad brochure;
Who are the readers of the text – laymen or experts;
Do you need a glossary for future references?
Who should be responsible for proofreading?

Do you provide proofing service?
Yes, we will proof someone else’s translation. We need the translated text and the original text in order to proofread and edit a translation.

Do proofreading services cost the same as translation services?
Usually they are less when we are simply verifying the accuracy of a translation and making minor edits. If the correction process is so extensive that it becomes a re-translation, we will advise you, because at that point our regular translation rates will apply.

Do you make audio transcripts?
Yes, we provide a full range of translation services for audio and video materials. We can provide a careful transcription of a wire tap or a scripted translation, subtitle your video or provide a new translated audio track for your video.

Can you help with video production in a foreign language?
Yes, we offer multi-lingual, full-scale video production in the languages of your choice.

Do you work with Asian and other languages that have a different alphabet and require special fonts?
Yes, we are very experienced in providing translations in all Asian and Arabic languages.

Do you recommend using translation software for any documents?
No, for when a non-professional does translation, translation software available on the Internet is of little or no help. It can distort the message beyond recognition and lead to costly misunderstandings. However, professional translation software, or rather computer aided translation memory tools implemented by a professional translator can be very useful. It’s important to remember that high quality memory tools are quite expensive and require a substantial learning curve.
