Editing and Proofreading
Bromberg Translation Services provides two types of editing services – editing and proofreading:
- Editing involves careful reviewing of the translated document and comparing it to the original as well as checking the translation for accuracy, grammar and terminology.
- Proofreading means checking the translated text only for grammatically and idiomatically correct language (this service does not include comparison of the translated text and its original).
Bromberg Translation Services includes proofing and editing with all translations done by our firm. However, we will also provide the same high-level professional proofing and editing services to review translations done by individuals outside our firm. For instance, if you have someone on staff who occasionally does translations, or you received files translated by your foreign partner, you may feel more comfortable after that translation is proofed by a professional translator. As is the case in any profession, the people you work with or employ may be highly skilled in their field, but may not be skilled in the grammatical aspects of both source and target languages, nor have the translation techniques that ensure accurate and absolute translation of the original meaning.
The business world has made significant linguistic blunders in the past. By employing a professional translation firm, or even having a second proofing by a translation firm can save the expense and embarrassment of bad translations.
